Luna Slater – author, musician, poet, painter and mother.

Luna Slater (whose birth name is Meredith) lives in Taos, New Mexico with her two children Sage and Obsydion. They are now two young men, who were born and raised in New Mexico. They are a year and a half apart in age and have many gifts and friends. She is finally having her books, two of which are inspired by her children, illustrated and published. She wrote two children’s stories when they were little and they will be gifted with them upon leaving home and starting their new lives, as young men. Luna has been a single mother since the boys were very young.

Luna Slater was born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and grew up there. Her parents Stephanie and Paul still live there. Her mother has a masters degree in English Literature and taught part time.  Luna’s mother wrote and read to her, much of her childhood and taught her an appreciation for the written word. Luna is still close to her parents and always knew writing was her calling.

In her teenage years, she began writing poetry and would later attend college at Emory University in Atlanta, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing/English Literature. She knew she wanted to be a writer since she was in third grade, when her story won an award for the school and went to a state competition.

Luna Slater is a prolific singer/songwriter and a LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist). She loves to hike and attend dance and yoga classes. She loves pets, art and traveling and has many friends she likes to share her stories with and talk to about parenting.
